Good skincare can be beautiful and understandable at the same time.

We love skincare.

We love trying new products, discovering ingredients, beautiful packaging, different textures, and finding the handful of things that actually earn a permanent place on the bathroom counter.

For us, tallow became one of those things. We kept coming back to it.

And Bramble grew from a simple question: what if we took that foundation and paired it thoughtfully with ingredients we already knew and loved from Korean and Asian skincare?

Those are questions we ask when we buy skincare too. So when we make something, we want to give you the same information we would want ourselves.

You shouldn't have to take our word for it. We'd rather show you what we made, explain why we made it that way, and let you decide whether it makes sense for your skin and your routine.

I've loved experimenting with skincare for a long time. I started using essential oils and making my own creams in 2008, and later spent five years working in the essential-oil industry.

That experience gave me an appreciation for ingredients themselves: how they're grown, how they're processed, why one version can be different from another, and how much thought can go into something that ultimately appears as a single word on an ingredient list.

Then I discovered tallow.

I loved how it felt on my skin, and before long it became the base I kept reaching for whenever I made something for myself.

I still tried everything else. Premium skincare. K-beauty. New launches. Different oils, creams and routines.

But my little jars of tallow kept earning their space on the counter.

At the same time, there were ingredients I already knew and loved from Korean and Asian skincare: yuja, green tea, rice, ginseng, mugwort. I wanted to explore what happened when those two worlds came together.

American tallow. Ingredients that are familiar to me through Korean skincare. Simple formulas with a reason behind every ingredient.

That became Bramble.

Right now, we make it in small batches in Austin, Texas.

When you look at one of our products, we want you to be able to understand it.

Why those ingredients were chosen. What role they play. What we know about them. And, wherever it matters, where they came from.

We'll also tell you when something comes from tradition, when it comes from published research, and when something is simply part of our own experience making and using the product. Because those aren't necessarily the same thing.

We think giving you that context is more useful than simply asking you to trust a label.
